The miscreants who came as customers at the jewelery shop robbed gold, worth about Rs 35 lakh

Vis, Nangloi: Armed miscreants, who arrived as customers at a woman’s jewelery shop in Nangloi area, carried out the gold robbery incident and fled. Police is registering a case and tracing the accused through CCTV cameras. In the investigation, the victim woman has told the police that there were chains of about 800 grams of gold, which were robbed by the miscreants.

According to police sources, there is a shop in the name of Poonam Jewelers under Krishna Devi’s house located at Rajendra Park Extension, Nangloi. Around 11 o’clock a miscreant came as a customer. He asked to show the locket. As soon as the woman started opening the box to show the locket. Then another accomplice of that miscreant came and pushed him by showing his weapon. The miscreants robbed a bag full of gold chains. When she resisted, she also scuffled with the woman. He fled from there after threatening to kill him. At present, teams of special staff including local police are engaged in solving the case. The woman claims that there was about 800 grams of jewelery, the value of which is being estimated at Rs 35 lakh.

On the other hand, in Krishna Nagar, thieves carried out the incident of robbery of jewelery and cash. Both husband and wife locked the house and went to the shop. When he returned home at night, about 150 grams of gold jewellery, 2.5 lakh cash, two silver bricks and 25 coins were found missing from the house. On the statement of the victim, Krishna Nagar police registered a case under theft sections.

Police said that Rajkumar lives with the family in Shankar Nagar. There is a readymade garment shop in Purana Seelampur. On Tuesday morning, both the husband and wife had locked the house and went to the shop. When he reached home after closing the shop at around 9:00 pm, the lock of the house was found broken. Goods were found scattered all over the room. The cupboard was also open. About 150 grams of gold jewellery, silver bricks and coins kept in the cupboard, besides a huge amount of jewelery were found missing. The victim called the police and told about the theft in the house. The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The police recorded the statement of the victim and registered a case under sections of theft. Police are also scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the house to trace the thieves.
