A section of the country has been vocal against the continuation of the Central Vista project at the time of Kovid. The matter has reached the court. The petition has been sought to be stayed by filing a petition in the Delhi High Court. The petition was heard in the High Court today. On this occasion, Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta, while favoring the government, targeted the petitioner. He told the court that the construction of the Central Project Corona is being done under the Corona Guidelines.
Mehta said, “For those who don’t like the Central Vista project or are against it, for whatever reason, they are coming to the courts in different forms.” People are allowed to congregate, more than 20 people are to attend the last rites, and transport is allowed to run with 50 per cent capacity, in the same way such construction works are allowed to continue where the laborers stayed on site. “
He claimed that there are 250 laborers at the site who are ready to work. Mehta said, “All arrangements have been made for the laborers, including the RTPCR test there.” SG Mehta said that the public interest of the petitioner is very selective, he does not care about the laborers working on other projects, who are probably running only 2 km away. He said, “DMRC has projects, DDA has housing projects, but none of them have any meaning.”
