Delhi News: Film producer arrested for duping Delhi businessman in the name of getting loan

A Bollywood filmmaker from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh has been arrested for duping a Delhi-based businessman of Rs 32 lakh on the pretext of getting loans at cheap rates. The police gave this information on Monday. He said that the accused has been identified as Ajay Yadav. Yadav had duped several businessmen using similar methods.

Police said he was arrested after raids in Mumbai, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, Ajay Yadav is the director of Sirene Pvt Ltd and the producer of six Bollywood films – Overtime, Bhadaas, Love Phir Kabhi, Raan Banka, Suspense and Sakshi. The police said that he invested all the amount of the cheated in the production of the films, but most of them flopped, causing heavy losses to him.

He was earlier arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police and Kandivali Unit of Crime Branch of Mumbai Police. Rahul Nath, a businessman in Okhla industrial area, told the police that he wanted to expand his business and needed a loan of Rs 65 crore. Police said an acquaintance of Nath introduced him to the accused after seeing an advertisement in the newspaper.

During investigation, it was found that a film named ‘Sakshi’ produced by the accused was released recently. The officer said that a police team was sent to Mumbai, which found that the accused was in Indore in Madhya Pradesh. Later, his presence was detected in Mathura, following which raids were conducted and the accused was apprehended, the police said.
